Cook, Tuetken Named Athletes of the Week

CARLINVILLE, IL -- Junior Nick Cook and senior Caidy Tuetken earned Blackburn College Athletes of the Week.

Cook led the men's basketball team with 10.3 points per game in the team's opening week. He scored 11 points at McKendree University then followed it with 12 against Monmouth College. He also led them in rebounding. 

Tuetken recorded her first career double-double in the women's basketball team's home opener against Hannibal-Lagrange University. She tied for the team's lead with 17 points and also grabbed a team-high 14 rebounds. During the game, she finished 9-11 from the free throw line. 

This week sees the women's basketball team head to Maranatha Baptist University Tuesday evening and head to McKendree University for an exhibition game Saturday. The men's basketball team heads to Knox College Saturday. On Saturday, the wrestling teams will compete in the Coe Invitational at Coe College.
