2003 Alum Sean Courtney was the first ever baseball player named to the Blackburn College Athletic Hall of Fame. Courtney is Blackburn's all-time leader in victories on the mound with 22. He had a career record of 22-12 and was named all-conference twice. Courtney won eight games in each of the 2002 and 2003 seasons which also ties a school record.
Courtney was a graduate of Granite City High School. Courtney was inducted in a ceremony conducted over homecoming weekend. Former teammates, Chris Franklin, Keith Welch, Travis Hood, Kevin Sangiolo, and J.D. Arnold attended the ceremony
