The Blackburn College Baseball Team devoured the visiting Illinois College Blueboys on Wednesday afternoon by a score of 15-5. The game ended in 8 innings on a walkoff single by junior centerfielder Aaron Moody (Navarino, Wisc.).

The Beavers knocked a total of fifteen hits including back-to-back home runs by Matt Mokriakow (Glen Carbon, Ill.) and Brock Hill (Woodlawn, Ill.) in a four-run third inning. It was Mokriakow's second homer of the year and Hill's fourth.

In the fifth, Blackburn unloaded for eight more runs to put the game out of reach. They scored one in the seventh and two in the eighth to end the game. The Beavers had nine different players get a hit in the game.

Mokriakow had three hits and three RBI while senior Vinnie Birk (Swansea, Ill.) added three hits of his own. Moody and Hill had two hits and two RBI each. Jon Lowry (Peoria Heights, Ill.) and Joey Szerletich (Pleasant Plains, Ill.) had two RBI apiece while Birk and Doug Matas (Youngstown, Ohio) had one each.

Tim Hillis (Williamsville, Mo.) earned his first win of the year on the mound by pitching five innings while surrendering one earned run and striking out four.
