Crawfish Boil 2016

Crawfish Boil 2016

The 8th annual Crawfish Boil Fundraiser benefitting the Blackburn College Baseball program will be held on Saturday, May 21st at the Wood Duck Bar and Grill in Carlinville, and on Sunday May 22nd at DH Brown’s in downtown Springfield.  This is the first year we are holding two days of boiling crawfish.  Greg “Batman” Battistella, will once again be rolling up Interstate 55, this time with 400 pounds of crawfish including all the fixins such as corn on the cob, potatoes, and sausage from the great city of New Orleans as part of the boil.  Along with the boil the day includes food, karaoke, crawfish races, raffles and just a plain ole good time.  If you’re not into the crawfish, we’ll have jambalaya and red beans and rice.

Saturday at the Wood Duck the event will begin at 3:00 p.m. where $30 gets you unlimited soft drinks and draft beer along with all the crawfish and fixins. The Matt Wagner Derby Memorial Crawfish Races generally take place around 5:00-6:00 p.m., followed by raffle drawings, door prizes and music.

If you can’t make Saturday, then we are doing it again on Sunday at DH Brown’s in downtown Springfield from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., where the same $30 gets you the refreshments, crawfish, fixins, and jambalaya.  The seven previous boils have been truly fun-filled events with delicious food, fun and fellowship.
