Jackson's One-Hitter Propels Beavers to Conference Split

Blackburn College Freshman Right-hander Tyler Jackson (Mesa, Arizona/Skyline HS) carried a no-hitter into the 7th inning to help lead the Blackburn College Baseball Team to a 4-1 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference victory at MacMurray College on Sunday afternoon.  Jackson needed just one more out to secure just the second no-hitter in college history but Brice Griebler hit a soft single into centerfield to give the Highlanders their lone hit.  Jackson struck out five on the afternoon to improve to 2-0 on the season.

Blackburn scored all four of their runs in the 3rd inning as Ryan Steen had a two-run single, Logan Presley and Christian Padilla added RBI singles in that frame.

In game two, the Blackburn bats went quiet, mustering just four hits in falling by a score of 5-1.  Jackson's solo homerun accounted for the only Beaver run.

Blackburn is now 9-27 overall and 7-15 in league play.
