The Blackburn College Men's Basketball Team hung close for most of the first half before the Griffins of Fontbonne University pulled away for a 70-51 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference victory on Tuesday night in St. Louis

Blackburn trailed just 25-23 with three minutes remaining in the first half before Fontbonne closed out the half with an 8-0 run.  The Griffins then opened the second half with a 7-0 run to take a 17 points lead and control of the rest of the contest.

Jon Lowry scored 14 points to lead the Beavers while also hauling in six rebounds.  Brandon Adams led Blackburn in rebounding with seven.  For the night, the Beavers shot 35 percent on 17 of 48 shooting.  

Blackburn is now 1-15 and 1-6 in the conference.  The Beavers return to action on Saturday afternoon in Fulton, Missouri taking on Westminster College.
