Beavers Fall in Season Finale

Beavers Fall in Season Finale

It was a tough loss for the Beavers in the season-ending game against St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opponents from Fontbonne University on Tuesday night. Blackburn started the game off at a fast pace but quickly faded and fell to the Griffins of Fontbonne 83-62.

Fontbonne edged Blackburn in nearly every statistical category. Blackburn collected more steals than the Fontbonne players and shot a better percentage from the free throw line (77.8 percent).

Blackburn was led by sophomore, Chris Davis (Kevil, Ky.) who scored fourteen points and dished out four assists and junior, Jamie Moore (Springfield, Ill.) who scored ten points and gathered nine rebounds. Fontbonne was led by Ben Kissing who scored 22 points and brought down ten rebounds and Jared Greenlee who scored twelve points and gathered nine rebounds.

Blackburn will be saying goodbye to their lone senior, Can Girgin (Istanbul, Turkey). Girgin will certainly be missed by the men’s basketball program.
