Despite leading at halftime, the Blackburn College Men's Basketball team dropped a non-conference match to the Knox College Prairie Fire by a score of 89-73.

The Beavers were off to a hot start and held a lead for the majority of the first half and took a five point lead into the break. Knox came out of the locker room and wiped that lead away quickly. The game was tight from that point forward up until the game was deadlocked at 69 with a few minutes to play. The Prairie Fire sealed the victory with a 20-4 run to put Blackburn at 2-7 on the year.

Blackburn was led by Chris J. Davis (Kevil, Ky.) who had 21 points, five assists, and four steals. Davis knocked down eight of ten shots from the line. Chris A. Davis (Springfield, Ill.) added 12 points while Andre Strayhorn (Paducah, Ky.) and Tommy Ulinski (Girard, Ill.) each had ten points.

The dagger for Blackburn was Knox's three-point shooting ability. The Prairie Fire hit thirteen three-pointers and shot 46% from beyond the arc. Knox's Robert Suntken made five threes and had a game-high 24 points.

Blackburn is back in action this Thursday as they go on the road to take on Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
