In what looked like an even matchup on paper, the Blackburn College Beavers were bested by the visiting Westminster College Blue Jays on Saturday afternoon by a score of 61-44. Both teams now sit at 3-10 in SLIAC play.

The game marked the last Saturday home game of the season which meant the honoring of the lone senior player, Can Girgin (Istanbul, Turkey). Girgin made his first career start and played seven minutes while grabbing two rebounds.

Chris J. Davis (Kevil, Ky.) led the Beavers with thirteen points, four steals, and four assists. Jamie Moore (Springfield, Ill.) collected a game-high eight rebounds.

The 44 points by Blackburn marks the lowest scoring ouput of the year. They shot 13-41 from the field, good for 31.7%.

The Beavers are back in action on Tuesday when they are on the road against Principia College. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:00 PM.
