The Blackburn Beavers Men's Basketball Team defeated Cornell College 82-67 on Saturday in Lincoln, Nebraska.

The Beavers started off the first half with a outstanding defensive half holding the Rams to only 21 points. The Rams shot 8% from the three point arch and shot 25% from the floor while the Beavers shot 54% from both the field and from the three point arch. 

The Beavers did not let up in the second half after the Rams got it down to 14 points about half way through the second half. The Beavers were led by Senior Jake Maestranzi who finished the game with 14 points and 6 assists while logging 36 minutes.

The Beavers are back in action on Wednesday as they start their conference play against Eureka College in Carlinville. Make sure to come out and support the Beavers in their home opener
