Beavers fall to Spalding on Senior Night

The Blackburn Beavers Men's Basketball Team suffered a tough 61-59 loss to the Spalding Eagles on the Beavers Senior Night.

The game started off excellent for Blackburn as they started the game on an 11-0 run. Spalding bounced back very well as they shot 51% from the field in the first half. The Beavers continued to find success against the eagles and led at the half 35-30.

The second half was as crazy as a half can get. The Beavers attacked Spalding well but the Eagles seemed to respond every time. The eagles offense continued to shine in the second as they shot 56% from the field.

The Eagles led the Beavers in the final couple minutes until Blackburn's Malcolm Scott made a huge reverse layup with three seconds remaining. Rylan Rowe of the Eagles got the ball and dribbled half way up the floor and lobbed the ball up at the rim as the ref called a foul on the Beavers with just 0.2 seconds remaining.

Rylan Rowe made both free throws and gave the Eagles a 61-59 win over the Beavers.

DeAndre Manuel had 22 points for the Beavers and eight rebounds.

The Beavers are back in action at Greenville on Saturday at 3:00pm in their final regular season game.
