Blackburn Comes up Short Against Spalding

The Beavers came out slow against the Spalding Eagles and were unable to hold off the attack of the visiting team. Blackburn fell to 12-11 on senior night and lost to the Eagles 84-77. The home team was led by Reed Rusten (11) who finished the game with 14 points.

 

The home team came out without shooting well but only trailed by three at half with the Eagles leading 40-37. The Beavers came out firing to start the second half, though and led by nine points only a few minutes into the second half. Spalding rallied back strong with Rylan Rowe scoring 24 from the bench and leading the Eagles back in front. The Beavers were unable to make a comeback and their effort fell short with a few minutes to play.

 

The home team had one player record a double-double, Malcolm Scott (32), who scored twelve and rebounded ten. Blackburn was led in assists by Duncan King who recorded six assists and scored 13.

 

The Beavers will play again against Webster on February 14.
