Men's Basketball Releases 2017-18 Schedule

Blackburn College Men's Basketball Coach Steve Kollar has released the 2017-18 Blackburn College Men's Basketball Schedule.

The Beavers will prepare for their season with a pair of exhibition contests against NCAA Division II opponents.  On November 6, Blackburn will travel to Springfield, Missouri and take on Drury University and then five days later play at Missouri S&T.

The regular season begins with Blackburn opening the season in Chicago at the North Park University Tournament.  On November 17, the Beavers play the host Vikings of North Park and then the next night play Gustavus Adolphus.  Blackburn will then play their first home game on November 21 as the Beavers host the Blue Jays of Elmhurst College.

The Beavers open St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play at home by taking on MacMurray College on November 29.  Blackburn will play three other conference opponents, Fontbonne, Eureka and Iowa Wesleyan before the Christmas break.  Before returning to conference play, Blackburn will travel to Loras University on December 19 and then play in the St. Norbert Tournament on December 29 and 30 in DePere, Wisconsin.

After the new year, conference play resumes with the Beavers travelling to Principia College on January 2 and then hosting Greenville College on January 6.  Blackburn will then play their final non-conference game as the Beavers host Illinois College on January 8 before finishing the rest of the season against conference opponents.

"We are playing a very challenging non-conference schedule that will no doubt help prepare us for the nightly battles in the SLIAC, and help us get to where we want to be as a program. Our players come here to compete at a high level and we most certainly will have the opportunity to do that. We play several nationally ranked teams that have been at or near the top of their respective conferences on a consistent basis. We look forward to every opportunity we have to compete and we will take these challenges head-on, said Blackburn Head Coach Steve Kollar.
