Blackburn Women’s Basketball Team Honors Three Seniors

Blackburn Women's Basketball Team lost a St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference matchup against Greenville University Wednesday night in Carlinville. The Panthers earned an early lead and never looked back as they won by the score of 89 to 52.

 Before the game three seniors were recognized for their achievements in a Blackburn uniform.

Maria Cline has been a part of the basketball program for four years. Cline has played in 91 games totaling 247 field goals made for 685 points and 577 rebounds (9th best all-time).

 

Annika Ochs has played three years in a Blackburn uniform. She is graduating this spring as she is going to earn her degree in only three years. Ochs logged 1,180 minutes including 18 three pointers and 36 field goals.

 

Kaylee Pedigo has been a part of the program for two years. Pedigo has a 66.7 field goal percentage and had grabbed 195 rebounds in her career.

 

The Panthers displayed excellent defense as they caused Blackburn into 24 turnovers which lead to 40 points. These turnovers helped Greenville maintain their lead throughout the game. Greenville was leading 27 to 14 after the first quarter and were never allowed Blackburn to lead.

 

Blackburn was led offensively by Cline as she scored 14 points, shooting six of 11 from the floor and dished out four assists.  Savannah Kruse followed as she scored 13 points, shooting three of 10 from the field. Jenna Dudra had 10 points, shooting five of nine from the floor and was credited with four steals.

 

Greenville was led by Haven Robertson as she scored 20 points, shooting six of seven from the floor. Emily Reinneck had 14 points, shooting five of seven from the floor and grabbed six rebounds.

 

The Beavers will play the season finale this upcoming Saturday as they travel to Spalding. Tip-off is 1:00 P.M.
