Beavers Fall to Monmouth

CARLINVILLE, IL—The Blackburn College Men's Basketball team played Monmouth College at home on Saturday afternoon. The Beavers fought a tough battle but lost 72-58. 

Junior Nick Cook led the Beavers with 12 points and 9 rebounds. Sophomore Odis Grissom posted 10 points while junior Cameron Johnson added 9 points. The Beavers jumped out to an early 5-0 lead, but Monmouth would fight back and tie up. The two teams exchanged leads throughout the second half, but the Scots would take a 30-26 lead into halftime.

The Beavers came out of the break and would push out to a lead with nine minutes left, 47-44. However, Monmouth was able to close out the game with a run to take the 72-58 victory. 

Blackburn returns to action on Saturday, November 23rd when they travel to take on Knox College in nonconference action.
