Beavers Finish Third in McNaughton Invite

On April 10th, Blackburn College Men's Golf team competed in the McNaughton Invitational at Jacksonville Country Club in Jacksonville, IL.  With wet and windy conditions and a chance of possible rain in the afternoon the Beavers battled the wind and shot a season low of 304, relative to par.  Leading the Beavers was junior, Jordan McMillen who shot a two over par 74.  Following close behind was sophomore, Anthony Harper, and junior, Trenton Easley who both shot 76.  Rounding out the scoring for Blackburn was junior, Kyle Kesinger, who shot a 78.  When asked about his round McMillen commented "I had a lot of fun out there today.  We got very lucky with the weather and didn't get rained on.  It was very windy out which made the course even harder than it already is.  I was really happy with how I played today, I was hitting the ball really well.  I was happiest about how the team did.  We shot our lowest total relative to par we've shot all year with a 304, and I'm hoping we can ride this into conference next week and hopefully shock some people."  The team finished third out of twelve teams.  The only teams to beat them were Lewis and Clark College, who shot a team score of 301, and Illinois College, who shot a team score of 302.

The Beavers are back in action next Monday, April 17th, as they travel to St. Louis to compete in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament.
