Blackburn Finishes Second in SLIAC Conference Tourney

On April 18th, the Blackburn Men's Golf team competed in the final round of the SLIAC conference tournament.  With the sun out and the weather suited the Beavers well, as

they shot the lowest round they have shot all season with a team score of 300.  Blackburn found themselves tied with Iowa Wesleyan College to start the day, but left them in the dust and beat the Tigers to take solo second place in the conference.  The Beavers finished twenty shots behind Webster University.

Blackburn had two individuals make all conference, and two others finish in the top twenty.  Leading the way was Junior, Trenton Easley who shot 76-76-73 to finish solo fourth, earning him first team all-conference.  Keegan Easley also cracked the top ten with rounds of 80-76-73, to earn a T-6 finish.  Jordan McMillen shot 83-76-74 to finish two shots out of the top ten with a T-12 finish.  Anthony Harper was also in the top twenty with a 76-83-80 finish.  Blackburn opened the tournament with team scores of 306-311 and finished the final round with a 300 giving them a total of 917 for the tournament.  This total is the lowest Blackburn has had since the tournament switched to a 54 hole format in 2002.

The Beavers look to build on this finish and return to the conference tournament next year in full force.  However, Blackburn still has one tournament remaining in the season on April 21st and April 22nd in Springfield at The Rail.
