Men's Golf Spring Preview

The 2019 Blackburn College Men's Golf team looks primed to make a splash this spring as they will participate in six tournaments including the SLIAC conference tourment in Peoria, IL, held at Weaver Ridge Golf Club.  Coming off of a solid fall season, the Beavers hope for better weather in the spring.

Senior Anthony Harper and Matt Kinsella look to bring valuable leadership skills to this spring and look to build off of a solid fall season.  Both agreed and stated  "We look forward to going out everyday and working hard with our teammates to get better so we can have a shot as a team come the conference tournament in April.  It should be an exciting and fun season."

Head Men's Golf Coach Seth Schultz said

"Coming into this season we have a lot of unknowns. Losing our top 3 golfers from last year's team we knew it would be tough to fill their shoes. Having to lean heavily on our lone senior, Anthony, and junior Matt Kinsella, with their experience, we are hoping for much growth with our younger players. Our fall season was shortened because of tough weather conditions so we missed out on opportunity to develop. Even with the tough conditions, Anthony was able to notch an individual first place finish at IC while finishing in the top 6 in every tournament during the fall. We have a great schedule for this spring that allows us to play good courses against tough competition. We open our season hosting a tournament March 23-24 at Lockhaven golf course and Belk golf course. We are hoping to continue to get better with every tournament we play, so that we can compete with the best in the conference on April 22-23 at Weaver Ridge in Peoria."
