The Blackburn College Men's Soccer team defeated SLIAC foe MacMurray College by a score of 2-1 on Homecoming Weekend. The Beavers continued their impressive run at home by improving to 4-0-1 in Carlinville.

It was a physical game from the start and MacMurray got the early lead with a goal from Carlinville's Bradley Wise in the 17th minute.

Freshman Nate Kinnison(Perryville, Mo.) knotted up the scoring at the beginning of the second half. A beautiful give-and-go between Kinnison and junior Lucas Rochkes(Pana, Ill.) created the scoring opportunity.

Julian Valencia(Highland, Ill.) gave the Beavers a lead to complete the comeback in the 79th minute. A throw-in from Kinnison was deflected by Blackburn's Dylan Parkin(Athens, Ill.) right to the feet of Valencia who then knocked it in.

Shane Rogers(Granite City, Ill.) was once again fantastic in goal by saving six Highlander shots on goal.

With the win, Blackburn is now 5-3-1 overall and 1-0 in SLIAC play. The Beavers will play next Saturday at home against conference opponent Westminster. Kick-off is scheduled for 1:00 P.M.
