The Blackburn College Men's Soccer team continued their recent hot streak with a 6-0 victory over Lincoln Christian College on Wednesday afternoon.
Nothing was brewing for either team until the 38th minute when senior Dylan Parkin(Athens, Ill.) put Blackburn up 1-0. Sophomore Mikey Stephenson(Raymond, Ill.) added his first goal of they day a few minutes later.
The Beavers wouldn't look back in the second half as they tallied four more goals. Mikey Stephenson completed his second hat trick of the season with two more goals. Jonathon Velazquez(Bolingbrook, Ill.) and Lucas Rochkes(Pana, Ill.) also scored a goal. Nate Kinnison(Perryville, Mo.) dished the ball around all day and led the team with two assists.
Freshman goalkeeper Justin Hellums(Bethalto, Ill.) knotted his first career collegiate shutout. He stopped both of Lincoln Christian's shots on goal even though they collected ten total shots in the game.
The Beavers are now 3-2-1 on the season and will host Eureka College on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 P.M.
