Men's Soccer Shut Out by Westminster

On a cloudy and dreary Saturday afternoon in Carlinville, the Blackburn College Men's Soccer Team lost to Westminster College, 8-0 in St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action.  The Blue Jays blitzed Blackburn with five first half goals and never looked back.  Blackburn was out-shot 40-1 as Westminster controlled the action for practically the whole contest.

Shane Rogers recorded 17 saves for the Beavers.  Blackburn was without leading scorer Mikey Stephenson who missed the contest due to an injury suffered in practice during the week.

Blackburn is now 5-4-1 on the season and 1-1 in the SLIAC, while Westminster improves to 3-6 and 2-0 in the league.  The Beavers will travel to Springfield on Wednesday night, October 9,  to take on non-conference foe Robert Morris University-Springfield with the start time scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
