Blackburn College junior men’s soccer player Shane Rogers (Granite City, Ill./Granite City HS) was named the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the week for the week of October 7-13.  On October 9, Rogers was credited with a shut-out in the Beavers 3-0 victory at Robert Morris University of Springfield, the shut-out was his third of the season.  Rogers saved both shots he faced in that contest.  On October 12, Rogers recorded 21 saves in a 2-0 loss against Webster University, including multiple diving or leaping saves. “Shane has proven to be one of the top goalkeepers in the conference and it’s great to see him get the recognition he deserves,” said Blackburn Head Coach Rob Steinkuehler.
