Men's Soccer Find First Win

The Blackburn College Men`s Soccer Team traveled to Springfield to play in a non-conference matchup against Robert Morris-Springfield. The Beavers came out with high intensity pressuring the Robert Morris defense and goalie by taking 32 total shots on goal throughout the game. Mikey Stephenson (Raymond, Ill.) put one on the board for the Beavers at 12:08 left in the first half. Robert Morris made it a physical match for the Beavers with a combined total of 19 fouls and 3 yellow cards for the entire game. Daniel Nguepnang (Springfield, Ill.), Tommy Millburg (Litchfield, Ill.), and Reed Gwillim (Springfield, Ill.) also found the back of the net to seal the win over Robert Morris 4-1. Goalie Ryan Cowsert (Harrisburg, Ill.) came up with three out of four saves during the match.

The Beavers look to build off of this strong win as they head to Chicago to compete against Illinois Tech on Sunday, September 20th. Game time is set for 1pm. The Beavers record stands at 1-2-1.
