Beavers Fall on Homecoming

Beavers Fall on Homecoming

On September 30th, Blackburn Men's Soccer played its opening conference game on Homecoming against the Blue Jays of Westminster College.  Coming off of two wins, the Beavers looked to make it win number three in a row.  However, this was not the case as both teams came out playing extremely physical.  The Blue Jays relentless push and physicality allowed them to get deep into the Beaver defense.  The Blue Jays netted three goals within the span of 15 minutes to end the first half.  The Beavers didn't get there first goal until the 82nd minute on a goal by Alex Escamilla.  The Blue Jays responded in the 88th minute with another goal by Cooper Smith.

There was a total of 38 fouls called during the game, 21 on the Beavers and 17 on the Blue Jays.  Alex Hammerlinck had three saves on the game for the Beavers.

Blackburn looks to bounce back when they travel to Principia on October 3rd to take on the Panthers at 6:00 pm.
