The Blackburn College Women's Cross Country opened up the season with a meet at the University of Illinois at Springfield in the Orion Mini Meet on Friday afternoon.
Blackburn was led by freshman runner Katherine Smith's eleventh place finish. Smith covered the 3k course in 13:45.
