Blackburn College Softball Coach Paula Cummings has resigned from her position as Head Softball Coach and Head Athletic Trainer.  Cummings cites wanting to spend more time with her family as the reason behind the resignation.  In her only season as softball coach, Cummings led the Beavers to a 17-16 record which included a school record 11-2 start to the season.

"Paula did a great job in her first season, said Blackburn Athletic Director Heidi Heinz.  "Paula was very well liked among the campus community and she will be missed by many student-athletes as well as other members around campus," added Heinz.

A national search will begin to replace Cummings.
