Beavers Surrender to Webster

Due to weather on April 10, Blackurn was forced to conclude their second game against Webster in the bottom of the first inning. Today, April 22, the Beavers finally had the chance to come back and finish off this match up. Starting with runners on first and third, Blackburn came out swinging, scoring three runs. Webster quickly followed, scoring three runs of their own. The Beavers pitcher, Amber Byrley, tried to hold batters back, but just couldn't match the umpires strike zone. Melissa Heigert relieved Byrley in the fifth and only allowed three hits against her. All that was left to do for Blackburn was get some runners on base and hit them in. As much as they tried, pop-ups and hard ground balls ended the game for the Beavers with a loss, 10-4.

Blackburn's next game will be at home, April 27, at 2pm and 4pm. They will be facing Washington University of Missouri in their final home game of the season and honoring seniors Amber Byrley and Katelin Tickner.
