Blackburn College junior softball player Mary Chamberlain has been named the Marion Carlson Athletic Award winner for the Blackburn College Athletic Department for the 2013-14 school year. The Carlson Athletic Award, which is presented to the junior female student who has exemplified outstanding qualities of citizenship, scholarship and athletic ability.
"As a member of the women's soccer and softball team, Mary has demonstrated her competitive spirit over and over. Much like on the field of play, Mary is always prepared and efficient in the work program and in the classroom," said Blackburn Director of Athletics Angie Morenz.
Chamberlain is from Johnsburg, Illinois and hit .302 for the softball team this spring.
