Daniele Burnell hit a walkoff homerun in the bottom of the 7th inning to give the Blackburn College Softball Team a 12-11 win over Principia College in game one of a Tuesday night St.Louis Intercollegiate Atheltic Conference doubleheader in Carlinville.
The momentum continued in game two as the Beavers won 8-4 to complete the sweep.
Burnell was three for four in game one with four runs batted in. The Beavers had 16 hits in the game with Hannah Goett with three hits and two hits apiece for Lexi Yockey, Allison Howard and Abby Frerichs.
In game two, Jensen Ballinger pitched a complete game and was supported by two hits apiece from Burnell and Liz Johnston to pick up the sweep.
The Beavers have now won four in a row and will travel to MacMurray College on Friday.
