Beavers Drop Two in Final Home Outing

On Friday April 26th, the Blackburn Women's Softball team faced off in a double header against conference foe Spalding University.  The Beavers battled the first game down to the last out, but the Golden Eagles were able to hold off and win 6-5. In the second game, the Golden Eagles were in command from start to finish with a 9-0 win for Spalding.  

In the first game of the afternoon, the Beavers were led by Brooke Daniels and Baylee Hughes who both had home runs in the ball game as well as two runs batted in.  Daniels was on the mound for the Beavers and pitched a stellar game with seven innings pitched, five strikeouts and one earned run.

In the second game, the Golden Eagles scored two runs in the first, three runs in the second and never looked back as they took a lead over the Beavers.  Leading the way for Blackburn, in the second game at the plate was the top of the order in Haley Shull, Hughes, Megan Moseley, Halle Fransen, and Daniels who all recorded a hit in the ball game.  Fransen pitched 4.2 innings for the Beavers with four strikeouts and 5 earned runs scored.

The Beavers next game is tomorrow afternoon, April 27th, in Milwaukee, WI against Silver Lake at 2:00pm.
