Blackburn Softball Spring Trip Update

The Blackburn College Softball Team has completed 3/4 of their spring trip in Ft. Myers, Florida and at this point the Beavers are 1-4 on the trip.  After opening with a 19-2 loss to Rochester Institute of Techology the Beavers then defeated Wilmington College 2-1 for the first win of the trip.  The second day saw the Beavers drop a tough 2-1 loss against Rockford College and an 11-5 decision to Curry College.

On Tuesday the Beavers fell the University of Pittsburgh-Bradford 8-1 and a tough 6-5 loss to Nazareth.

In the Nazareth game, Blackburn fell behind early, 6-1 before mounting a comeback.  Blackburn scored three runs in the fourth as Haley Shull had an RBI double and Tessa Beckham had a two run double to cut the lead to 6-4. Katelyn Wade (pictured) knocked in a run to cut the lead to 6-5 in the fifth.  Unfortunately a line-out double play ended the sixth inning and stranded Megan Mosely's walk in the seventh to fall in the contest.

Blackburn is now 3-5 and will finish the trip with a pair of games on Wednesday before returning home.
