Women's Basketball Loses a Tight One to Webster

The Blackburn College Women's Basketball Team battled all afternoon but still dropped a 71-66 decision to Webster University on Saturday afternoon in Carlinville. Missed free-throws proved costly as Blackburn was just 17 of 31 from the foul line.

The first half saw the action go back and forth with 11 lead changes before Webster took a 33-28 lead into the locker room at halftime.· The Beavers hung around all game with Webster never leading by more than seven points.

Freshman Briana Rae had another outstanding performance for Blackburn as she had 21 points and pulled down 13 rebounds which were both game highs.· Andrea Kleinsorge added 14 points and Shelby Smith had 10 to join Rae in double figures.· Blackburn falls to 0-19 on the season and 0-10 in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

The Beavers will travel to Eureka to face Eureka College on Wednesday night with tip-off set for 6:00 p.m.
