Beavers End Season With Loss to Fontbonne

Despite having three players in double-digits, the Blackburn College Women's Basketball team lost their final game of the year to the Fontbonne University Griffins by a score of 80-61.

Playing in their last collegiate game, seniors Briana Rae (Staunton, Ill.) and Alicia George (Lake Charles, La.) led the way for the Beavers. Rae posted 22 points and twelve rebounds while George socred 14 and grabbed eight boards (a season-high). Rae finished the year with double-digit scoring numbers in every game this season while posting 17 double-doubles.

Danae Smith (Decatur, Ill.) pitched in with eleven points hile Victoria Bowens (Dallas, Tex.) and Candace Pollock (Milwaukee, Wisc.) had eight rebounds each.

The Beavers shot a poor 56% from the free throw line going 20-36. Rae shot 16 free throws herself while cashing in on twelve of them. The Griffins were led by DeAmbra Pilkenton who scored 22 points and Emily Harring who had 15 points and nine assists.

Blackburn finished the year with a 0-25 record and will say goodbye to seniors Alicia George and Briana Rae.
