Beth Baker Classic Consolation Final

Beth Baker Classic Consolation Final

Saturday afternoon, the Women's Basketball team took on UW-Platteville's Pioneers.  They ran the floor and worked the 6 foot giants in the post, but couldn't pull out the win.

The Beavers fell into the same rut as the day before, falling behind on the scoreboard within the first quarter.  Turnovers and shots not falling soon became a problem for the women as they continued to push to catch up to the Pioneers.  By the end of the first half, the Beavers were down 45-16.

The second half turned out to be the same as the first.  The women lost the game with the final at 88-36.

Like previous games, the women struggled with turnovers, ending the game with a total of 35. These turnovers resulted in 48 points for the Pioneers.

The Beavers were led in scoring by freshman, Abby Frerichs, with seven points and junior, Candace Pollock, with six points.  Sophomore, Gariel Pierce, led the team with 8 rebounds while freshman, Maria Cline, added in another six rebounds.

The next time the women play will be on Tuesday, November 22nd, at Concordia-Chicago College. Tip-off will be at 6 pm.
