Women's Basketball Loses to Westminster
The Blackburn College Women's Basketball team took on Westminster College on Wednesday night in Carlinville.  Despite a decent beginning, the women fell further behind as the game progressed finishing with a 69-44 loss.

The women fought hard throughout the game, especially in the first three quarters. Blackburn trailed just 14-11 after one quarter.

The second quarter was much like the first, with Blackburn tailing closely behind, only having four less points. Maria Cline ended the first half with two made free-throws, placing the score at 31-24, with Westminster ahead. The third quarter went along just like the second quarter, leaving the women still in the game, only down by twelve points going into the final quarter.

In start of the fourth quarter, Blackburn stayed strong and continued to play their game in order to fight back. Although their efforts were strong, they missed a few shots while Westminster made theirs. Slowly, Westminster started to pull away and finishing off the 25 point victory

Westminster was able to knock down seven of their 15 shots in the fourth quarter, plus five made free throws. Blackburn, although they took more shots, was not able to capitalize and pull ahead. The women made only three buckets and didn't have any free throws to help them out. Despite the amount of shots the ladies had, they just couldn't get the shots to fall.

Aleisha Stiltner was once again the leading scorer for Blackburn, with ten points. Stiltner also led the team in assists, with six total, and teammate Maria Cline added ten rebounds.

The next time the women play will be this Saturday at Webster University. Tip off will be at 1 p.m. with the men's game following at 3 p.m
