Blackburn Women's Basketball falls to Concordia Chicago

After playing for the second night in a row, the Blackburn Women's Basketball Team falls to the Concordia University Cougars 94-58, on November 16th, 2017 at Dawes Gymnasium in Carlinville, Illinois.

Inside the Stats:

The Beavers were led by junior forward Gariel Pierce with thirteen points, six rebounds, and 25 minutes of play. Another leader for the Beavers was freshman guard Kate Smith with twelve points, four rebounds and four assists. Finally, rounding out the top players for the Beavers, freshman forward Savannah Kruse with twelve points, one steal, and eleven minutes of play. As for the Cougars, they were led by Sophia Leon with 21 points, one rebound and two assists and Taylor Jacobson with 17 points, one assist and 16 minutes of play.

After the game, we had the chance to catch up with head coach Jim Chandler who said "Our kids came out and for two and a half quarters, I thought we gave them a nice run, but we just ran out of gas". On playing back to back nights, Coach Chandler said "We got that first win the night before, and then we came out and played hard for about two and a half quarters, but the energy was just sad. We're seeing some good things out of our program, and we're pleased with it".
