Six Student-Athletes Named to SLIAC All-Academic Team

Six Blackburn College Student Athletes were named to the 2019 Spring St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference All-Academic Team.  In order to qualify, student-athletes must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 and be of at least sophomore standing.  Senior Women's Tennis Player Gariel Pierce is the lone senior to qualify.  Pierce, from Springfield, is an elementary education major.

Juniors that qualified include a pair of softball players Baylee Hughes of Carlinville, and Holly Jones of Greenfield.  Both are accounting majors.  The softball team had a third member qualify in sophomore Whitney Runyon of Shipman, she is a biology major.

Men's golf provided another junior to qualify in Matt Kinsella of Joliet.  Kinsella is a chemistry major.

Joining Pierce from women's tennis is sophomore Erica Bechtold of Jerseyville.  Bechtold is an accounting/business management major.
