Morgan Named Head Coach for Women's Basketball

Blackburn College has announced that Nick Morgan, a native of Peoria, Illinois, has been named Head Women's Basketball Coach.  Morgan brings a nice mixture of coaching and playing experience to the position.  A graduate of Illinois Central College in East Peoria and Southern Illinois University, Morgan competed for two seasons at I.C.C. and two seasons at Judson College in Elgin, Illinois.

Morgan was a former assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for the men's basketball program at Beloit College.  Prior to that, he served as an assistant coach at Illinois Central College.  He also brings AAU/Club coaching experience to Blackburn as the former head coach of the Midwest Elite 17U and as an assistant for the Illinois Mystics and Lakeside Scholars.  Morgan is an active member of the Women's Basketball Coaches Association and holds a USA Basketball Coaching License.

As a player, Morgan played at Dunlap High School where he was a 2nd team all-conference performer in the Mid-Illini Conference and was named the MVP of the Newman Holiday Classic.

"We are excited to have Nick join our coaching staff and assume the leadership role in our women's basketball program.  Nick has a unique blend of collegiate coaching experience along with club level coaching experience.  We are eager to have him bring that experience and perspective to our program," said Blackburn Director of Athletics and Recreation, John Malin.
