Beavers Fly Past the Eagles

Blackburn faced Robert Morris University - Lake County in Waukegan, Illinois this weekend. Coming into the match, Blackburns record was 2-3 while the Eagles of Robert Morris University were 0-2. On Thursday, the Beavers began preparation for this supposedly tough match, but during game time, the women made the game of soccer look easy.

In the first half, Blackburn had three shots for goals and came out firing in the second half scoring five more. Alexis Richie(Carlinville, Ill.) was a huge player in the match, scoring three goals and assisting on another goal by Christy Hobbs(Highland, Ill.). Edia Mushundusi(Aurora, Ill.), Chelsea McMillian(Bethalto, Ill.), Emma Witte(Festus, Mo.), and Nique Byots(Carlinville, Ill.) also scored excellent goals.

Mushundusi and Allison Guerra(Elsah, Ill.) both had multiple assists and were definitely key players on the field.

The Beavers play the Lynx' of Lindenwood University-Belleville tonight, September 23, on Lindenwoods own turf, hoping to bring home another win.
