The Blackburn College Women's Soccer Team defeated Rockford University 3-0 on Sunday afternoon. Fresh after a heartbreaking 1-0 loss on Saturday, the Beavers came out dominating the Regents.

Blackburn collected 29 total shots and nine corner kicks in the match. Thirteen of those shots came from freshman Meghan Sykora (Arnold, Mo.). She netted two goals in the first half with assists from Jessica Esper (Riverton, Ill.) and Gabriella Iglesias (San Juan, Puerto Rico). Scorin' Sykora finished off the hat trick in the 79th minute to give her six goals in six games.

Casey Fellin (Gillespie, Ill.) had five shots for Blackburn while Iglesias and Nique Byots (Carlinville, Ill.) each had three. Nicole Kelly (St. Louis, Mo.) was not tested very much as she only saw three shots from the Regents, but nevertheless she recorded her first career college shutout.

The Beavers are now 3-3 on the year. Scorin' Sykora and the Beavers will look to keep playing some good soccer with two non-conference games on the schedule Wednesday and Thursday.
