The Blackburn Women`s Soccer team traveled to Elsah, Illinois to take on conference rival Principia College on Tuesday, October 20th at 8pm. The match started quickly as Principia scored within the first 46 seconds of the match. Blackburn fought back but Principia had another break through at 24:37 and 25:28. Score was 3-0 heading into halftime.
Blackburn came out aggressive in the second half and maintained possession in the middle of the field trying to find a way to break down the Principia defense. Principia found the back of the net again at 61:45 and 74:22 to seal the 5-0 win over the Blackburn Beavers. Principia had twenty-six shots on goal while Blackburn had two. Jourdin McFarland (Carlinville, Ill.) came up with eight saves for the match.
The Beavers fall to 5-10 for the season. The Women`s Soccer team looks to turn things around as they head to Kentucky to play in a conference match up against Spalding College on Saturday, October 24th. The game is estimated to start at 3pm.
