Women`s Soccer Loses Tough Game

The Blackburn Women`s Soccer Team hosted their second home game on Saturday, September 19th against Berea College who is another Work Program School. The Beavers headed into this match on three game win streak. Berea College came out early in the first half scoring at the 13:02 and 19:59 mark. The game was back and forth with action. Berea College had a total of 15 fouls and one yellow card and the Beavers had a total of seven. The Blackburn Beavers didn't give up and Christin Miller (Floyd Central, Ind.) broke free and put one on the board at 38:40.

Going into half being down 2-1, The Beavers had the momentum leading into the second half. Miller scored again in the second half at 55:32 which wouldn't be enough to catch Berea as they put in another two goals to make the final 4-2. Jourdin McFarland (Carlinville, Ill.) came up with nine saves during the match.

The Women`s Soccer Team hosts another home game next Saturday the 26th against MacMurray College. Game time is set for 3pm. The Beavers record is now 3-4.
