Youth Clinic a Success

Youth Clinic a Success

The Blackburn College soccer programs did their part helping raise awareness for pediatric cancer during the month of September.  On Tuesday evening the men's team competed in gold jerseys against Robert Morris-Springfield while the women's team competed in gold against Wisconsin Lutheran on Wednesday evening.  While the men played on Tuesday night, the women's team ran a free youth clinic for area youth focusing on mobility and skill development before ending with games.  While the women played on Wednesday night the men's team took their turn instructing the area youth.  Participants ranged from grades kindergarten to middle school.  Approximately 50 youngsters participated each evening.  The clinic was free, but the teams gladly accepted donations which are being passed along to Cookies for Kid's Cancer.  In addition to donations from the clinics, the teams are collecting funds from t-shirt sales and a raffle which will also be donated to Cookies for Kid's Cancer.  The soccer programs would like to thank everyone who participated and donated towards the cause.
