Blackburn Women's Soccer falls to Lakeland

The Blackburn Women's Soccer team falls to Lakeland College, by the score of 2-1 in 2-OT. The match took place on September 1st, 2019 at Blackburn College, in Carlinville, IL.

 

 

  • The Muskies took the lead in the first period, thanks to a goal from Rachel Hasko. Hope Cerney was credited with the assist.
  • The Beavers answered back with a goal in the second period. As freshman forward Lexi Lusk (Hilllsboro, Illinois / Hillsboro) scored to tie the game. Erica Bechtold (Jerseyville / Jerseyville) was credited with the assist,
  • 90 minutes was not enough as both teams were unable to score again, which sent the game to overtime.
  • In the second overtime Hasko connects for her second goal to win the game. Amanda Buckler with the assist.
  • Morgan Zobrist had 17 saves and allowed two goals
  • Lakeland out-shot the Beavers 45-13, and they were led by Hasko who had 13 shots.

 

The Beavers are now 0-2 on the season. Blackburn looks to bounce back as they host Lincoln Christian Wednesday, September 4th. Kickoff will be at 2:00 PM.
