The Blackburn College Women's Soccer Team scored four goals in each half to cruise to an 8-0 non-conference soccer victory on Wednesday afternoon in Carlinville. Libby Adams started the scoring on an unassisted goal at 13:06. Maria Cline scored the first of her two goals at 31:41 on another unassisted goal. Tess Saathoff and Lexi Lusk then scored the first of their two goals to give Blackburn the 4-0 halftime advantage.
Lusk scored one minute into the second half, Saathoff added another four minutes later to make it 6-0. Cline scored at 68:34 and Savannah Kruse closed out the scoring at 81:29. Blackburn out-shot the Red Lions 38-9 for the match. Morgan Zobrist made a nice save late in the match to preserve the shutout.
Saathoff and Layna Broux had assists for the Beavers as six of the goals were unassisted.
Blackburn is now 1-2 on the season while Lincoln Christian falls to 0-4. Blackburn will return to action on September 12 at Illinois College.
