Blackburn Takes the Road

Blackburn Takes the Road

On September 2nd, the Women's Volleyball team took on Beloit College and Illinois Institute of Technology at Beloit College for the Buccaneer Blast Tournament. The women headed out early in the morning as they had a long drive ahead of them. Although the drive was long and tiring, the women were excited to get out and play, hoping that today would bring good news for them. However, that is not how the day would go.

The first game of the day was against the home team, Beloit. The first set started off rocky, as the women were still adjusting to being off the bus. This set ended with the women losing, 17-25. The second set went much better after the women found a flow to work with, but still couldn't pull out the win, ending the set 20-25. The same story occurred for the third set, ending at 19-25 that time.

The second game was a much different story. It was clear the long day was taking a toll on the women as the games started to slip further and further away. The first set against Illinois Tech was the best, but not the greatest as the women were just out of reach, losing 20-25 once again. The second set dropped for the women, followed by the third.

Blackburn is hoping to learn from these two games and make changes for their next two games on September 3rd against Wisconsin Lutheran and North Central. The first game starts at 10:00 am and the second is at 2:00 pm.
