Blackburn Drops Non-Conference Match

The Blackburn College Volleyball Team took on St. Mary-Woods in a non-conference match on Wednesday nigh in Carlinville.  The Beavers dropped the match to the Pomeroys by the scores of 25-23, 25-11, and 25-16. The match was wear pink night for the Beavers,  as the team wore pink in honor of those who are fighting breast cancer. 

After a close first set, St. Mary of the Woods took over, for the night the Beavers totalled 24 kills and 25 digs. Sophomore  Alanni Young led the Beavers with a total of eight kills. Junior Alexis Dick led the Beavers with a total of twelve digs as she stepped up to play as the libero since senior Marlee Lindstrom is out due to a concussion in a previous contest. Also for the Beavers sophomore Jensen Ballinger led the Beavers with 15 assists.

The Beavers are back in action in a pair of home matches on Saturday October 29th facing Westminster at 10am and Fontbonne at 4pm in their season finales.
