Beavers come up just shy against MacMurray and Webster

The Beavers fell to the MacMurray Highlanders 2-3 and against the Webster Gorloks 0-3 on September 30. Shelsie Timmermeier and Kendall Knop both had impressive games and the Beavers recorded a number of aces in two tough losses. Kaitlyn Wiegand led the Beavers in kills against MacMurray with 17. Shelsie Timmermeier was a strong force at the net with several big plays for the Beavers, including key attacks in close games against both teams. Kendall Knop played two great games with her powerful attacks that resulted in several key points as well. The Beavers put together a number of long rallies against Webster, including a rally that lasted close to three minutes from the serve. It was a strong showing against the Webster front hitters who had been pounding the net early on in the game. The Beaver servers had a great day, recording several aces that allowed them to go on runs against both teams. The games were played tough with front row hitters from both teams taking a beating. Several substitutions were made for the front row players after a number of hard spikes came quickly and early on in the game against Webster. Overall, the Beavers impressed and played both teams to tough games.
