The Beavers played a hard game against Westminster. The Beavers' outstanding performance by Kaitlyn Wiegand was key and she led the Beavers as a team in kills. Her game at the net was fantastic. She played the ball very well and was rewarded by recording a total of six kills. Her outstanding performance was not enough, though, as the Beavers fell in three straight sets. The Beavers went on a number of runs in each set, but were unable to finish off Westminster in any of them due to the well timed rallies of Westminster that happened during each momentous point of the Beavers' scoring runs. The game was very physical at the net and several players on both sides took spikes directly to the face or body. The Beavers had eight aces that contributed to their chances, but Westminster countered with several great attacks. The Beavers did play well, but were just short of being able to win three well fought sets. The Beavers will be in action again against Fontbonne on 10/7 at 11:00 AM CDT.
