Beavers Fall to Panthers

On October 11, the Blackburn College Women's Volleyball team took on conference foe, Greenville University Panthers. Entering the game having won six straight sets in a row in two games, the Panthers kept up their relentless pressure of attacks to defeat the Beavers in three straight sets.  The Panthers won the first set 25-11.  The second set was won by the Panthers by a score of 25-15, and the final set was much closer as the Panthers barely edged out the Beavers by a score of 25-22.  

Leading the way for the Beavers with nine kills was Junior, Shelsie Timmermeier.  Leading the team in assists was Jensen Ballinger with twelve, and Kendall Knop led the way with 14 digs.

Leading the way for the Panthers with 13 kills was Allyson Mitchell.  Alex Falcone recorded 25 assists for the Panthers, and Allyson Grabowski led the Panthers in digs with 13.  

The Beavers look to bounce back on October 14th, when they hold a tri-match against Iowa Wesleyan University and Springfield-Robert Morris University.  The first game will start at 12 pm with Blackburn playing Iowa Wesleyan University.
